I love fashion and how it allows me to express myself!
My favourite fashion style icon and badass entrepreneur is Sophia Amoruso, founder of NastyGal and author of bestselling memoir 'Girl Boss'. Sophia inspires women around the world to be their own idols.
Whether you're already your own boss or just starting a new job, I believe that every woman should feel empowered to dress in a way that makes them feel confident and powerful.
Dress like a boss, feel like a boss.
Read on for 5 easy ways to look and feel like a #GirlBoss
1. Hi, Heels
What comes to your mind when you think of 'High Heels'? For me, it's sore feet and a bunch of stumbling around. But guess what? Not every pair of heels have to hurt like a b!@ch.
A pair of kitten heels or mules are the perfect pain-free way to spruce up your work outfit!
2. Bossy Pants
Who wears the pants in the office? That's right, you do. (I just had to)
But seriously though, pants are my absolute go-to fashion piece! I love throwing on a pair of culottes and matching it with a simple blouse or tank top for a professional yet stylish look.
For a more formal look, I'd opt for cigarette pants or tapered trousers, which are more fitted.
3. THE work bag
A good quality work bag is a must-have. Girl bosses don't go anywhere without their laptops and so having a handbag that fits everything is super essential. Plus, it makes your outfit look so much more polished and well put-together!
Trust me, you won't regret investing in a timeless, good quality handbag.
4. Dress to Impress
Dresses are so fashionable yet wearable for work. The key is to find a dress that fits wells. That is, something that's not too tight/loose or too short/long for you. Dark-coloured dresses are a wardrobe staple for me because of how versatile they are. My favourite 'lazy day' outfit is a well fitted shift dress that is formal but makes the right impression.
5. OWN your look
Nothing screams confidence like having your own unique style.
So before you start running off to buy a new dress, bag and a pair of heels, you need to know how to pull together a look that works for you.
How do you do this?
Start by asking yourself how you feel wearing a particular outfit. Do this everyday for different outfits that you put on. The goal is to find an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself!
Hope these little tips help you exude confidence and feel powerful in the way you dress.
You got this.
